Jason Watson, P.E. (Houston) / Division Manager - Structural Engineering

Mr. Watson has been a valued member and leader of the structural engineering staff at ProNet Group since January 1, 2010.  Overall, he has fifteen (15) years of experience in structural design and forensic investigations related to residential and commercial buildings, while holding positions from Design Engineer to Vice President of Engineering Services. His expertise includes engineering design, inspection and evaluation.

Mr. Watson has a variety of experience in construction material types, systems and components, with understanding of construction plan implementation, building code interpretation and industry standards. He often serves as the lead engineer for large commercial and industrial projects involving structural failures, building envelope, foundations, and roofing.

Related experience includes:

  • Conducted numerous structural evaluations and analysis of storm damages in Louisiana and Mississippi from Hurricanes Isaac and Gustav.
  • Evaluations of residential and commercial structures in Texas following Hurricanes Ike and Dolly.
  • Construction defect analysis of roof truss framing and anchorage for hurricane force wind design at a large condominium complex at Orchid Island, Florida.
  • Evaluation of multiple roof covering types at a 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Cleburne, Texas.
  • Structural damage assessments of single and multi-family residential buildings damaged by tornado winds in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama and Georgia - including the 2013 Moore, Oklahoma EF-5 tornado.
  • Numerous metal roof covering damage evaluations of commercial warehouse buildings throughout Texas - some encompassing nearly 180,000 square feet.
  • Evaluation of foundation and building cladding distress at a twenty-six building apartment complex in Baytown, Texas.
